Concord, NC – October 25, 2021 – Women in Trucking (WIT) has selected Cardinal Logistics as one of its “Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation” in 2021. Done in combination with Redefining the Road magazine, this annual award program launched in 2018 supports an element of WIT’s mission: to promote the accomplishments of companies that are focused on the employment of women in the trucking industry.
To be considered, companies are nominated and assessed against criteria that include a corporate culture that fosters gender diversity, competitive compensation and benefits, flexible hours and work requirements, professional development opportunities, and career advancement opportunities. After an initial screening by WIT, nominations are validated by an industry-wide vote involving nearly 15,000 professionals in transportation – including executive management, operations and HR/talent management executives, and professional drivers.
“We not only value diversity and inclusion, but we also know we are stronger because of it. While we are proud that the percentage of women that make up our driver force is greater than the national average, we are committed to bringing on more females and minorities into the Cardinal family”, said Holly Hardie, VP of Human Resources. “It is a great honor for Cardinal Logistics to be recognized as a leader in professional and career development opportunities for women in our industry.” Nicole Miller, Manager of Driver Recruiting added, “We are committed to fostering a flexible work environment to help balance work and home lives. Important family time is honored with our ‘home daily’ positions that apply to everyone but that greatly appeal to our women drivers. Our membership in WIT helps us stay at the forefront of hiring best practices and designing meaningful programs to support women in transportation roles at Cardinal.”
“As women rise through the ranks in the transportation industry, we are excited to feature the companies that make the extra effort to attract and retain a more gender-diverse workforce,” said Ellen Voie, President and CEO of WIT. “We applaud their efforts, and this distinction is our way of giving them the recognition they deserve.”
Several Cardinal representatives will attend the upcoming Accelerate Conference on November 7 through 9 to accept this honor.
