Drivers are the backbone of Cardinal
September 11, 2018

Finding and keeping good quality drivers has never been more difficult, but they are an invaluable asset and worthy of our investment and priority. How do we know the investment is paying off? It’s when our drivers earn accolades and compliments from our customers and our customers’ customers. In the spirit of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we wanted to highlight a few Cardinal drivers who go the extra mile for our customers.

Scott McKinney

Home Depot Super Driver

Team player with a positive attitude and who is essential to daily operations

Scott has worked on the Home Depot account since January 2014 and has proven to be an essential asset to daily operations. He is always a team player and will go out of his way to assist other drivers. Scott has also spent a significant amount of time training and collaborating with new drivers to ensure they meet customers’ expectations, Home Depot’s expectations, and that everyone follows Cardinal’s company guidelines. He does this voluntarily and with a contagious, positive attitude. Scott is a great example of what we strive to be as a company, and we’re proud to have him on our team.

Jose Silva

Cardinal Hat Trick Award

Dedicated, dependable, professional and safely performs duties

Jose received our Driver of the 1st Quarter 2018 and Hat Trick Award. This award honors the driver with the best HOS, safety, and MPG each quarter. Jose is dedicated, dependable, and shows great professionalism in everything he does, while also safely performing his job as a milk collector. Jose demonstrates excellence in everything he does for Cardinal and our customers.

The driver of the truck who brought singles to my home this morning for Home Depot was amazing! He was in and out in less than 5 minutes, left no trace of the delivery,  and was so polite. I have never had such great service for a construction delivery.

John Myles

Office Depot

Focuses on delivering excellent customer service

John recently completed his 10th year with Cardinal and works with our customer, Office Depot. He has done a tremendous job servicing accounts each week by managing the business delivery services operation. John has built a great relationship with Office Depot retail customers and has done a great job working with third-party sort centers on his morning deliveries. He leads by example every day. John’s focus on excellent customer service is a wonderful example for new hires that he trains throughout the year.

Wayne Robinson

Charter Steel

Our go-to driver – a leader with an outstanding attitude

Wayne works on our Charter Steel team and is repeatedly acknowledged for his hard work and fantastic attitude! Wayne has been with Cardinal since September 2008 and is one of our go-to drivers who often goes above and beyond what is asked of him. Wayne has been driver-of-the-month and was recently recognized for his travel through unpleasant weather on his normal scheduled day off to perform a road test. Another example of Wayne’s dedication and service orientation was when he was assigned to deliver a sensitive load to a customer. Wayne understood the importance of the delivery and initiated follow up communication to keep everyone apprised of the delivery status.

Wayne continues to do a great job for Cardinal customers with an outstandingly positive attitude. We are thankful and proud to have him on our team!

Ana Stubblefield

Yard General Extraordinaire

Trusted and respected for attention to detail and willingness to help

Kudos and a nice award for Ana Stubblefield:

“Ana Stubblefield is our “Yard General” at Caterpillar. As anyone that ever worked a yard knows, there is a lot more to it than just moving trailers. She is very much in tune with our operational schedule and ‘flows’ the equipment to the right spots at the right times which is not easy to do in an environment where you have little control over the timing of the customer’s needs. She does it without fail and has earned the trust and respect of the customer with her attention to detail and willingness to assist in any situation that arises to ensure the job gets done. We are honored to have her as part of our team and hope she is with us for a long time.”
