Customer-Centric Continuous Improvement

Customer-Centric Continuous Improvement

Improving your business shouldn’t be an intermittent event. It should happen continually and be guided by key performance indicators to measure the impact across your whole business. A customer-centric continuous improvement process should uncover new and different ways to increase productivity, streamline processes, satisfy your customers, and boost the bottom line.

An effective continuous improvement process should be:

  • Collaborative – Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) based on YOUR business objectives that have broad impact across operating functions beyond transportation
  • Real Time – Data and information collected at the speed of YOUR business that guide impactful process and operating improvements
  • Evergreen – Ongoing and structured review process to critically analyze YOUR transportation operations against KPIs

As a key supply chain partner, Cardinal takes a unique approach to continuous improvement – it’s about YOUR business, not ours.

Some dedicated fleet management companies use efficiency programs to improve their own operation and profitability. What they miss is the opportunity to refine and continually enhance yours. Cardinal’s customer-focused continuous improvement process is all about you and adding value to your bottom line.  Learn how Cardinal’s continuous improvement process helped one of our customers save $284,000 per year.

Cardinal honored with Logistics’ Management 36th annual readers’-choice Quest for Quality Award

Cardinal honored with Logistics’ Management 36th annual readers’-choice Quest for Quality Award

Concord, NC – August 22, 2019 – Ballots have been cast by readers of Logistics Management (LM) in their annual Quest for Quality awards to identify the transportation providers who deliver excellent service and performance. Cardinal has been recognized in the Value-Added Warehousing & Distribution Solutions in the 3PL category for Customer Service / Value Added, Order Fulfillment, Transportation / Distribution, Inventory Management, and Logistics Information Systems.

Cardinal Chairman of the Board, Vin McLoughlin commented, “This award reflects our commitment and dedication to excellence in customer satisfaction and service performance. We are honored to be recognized by Logistics Management readers, many of whom are our customers. Customer service, adding value across our customers’ businesses, and ability to deliver efficient and cost-effective inventory management and IT systems are hallmarks of our company.”

For more than three decades, LM’s Quest for Quality has been regarded in the transportation and logistics industry as the most important measure of customer satisfaction and performance excellence. To determine the best of the best, qualified LM readers rate carriers, third-party logistics (3PL) service providers, and now US port operators strictly on the basis of service quality, making it the only survey of its kind in the market.

This year LM’s research group received more than 4,500 total responses. In order to be a “winner,” a company had to receive at least 5 percent of the category vote.

Cardinal ranked in top 10% of all US truck carriers by the EPA

Concord, NC – August 21, 2019 – Each year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) monitors sustainability efforts of shippers, truck carriers, and logistics service providers through their SmartWay Partners program. Cardinal Logistics performed in the top 10 percent of all US truck carriers in the Truck Carriers, Carbon Metrics category.

“As a leader in transportation, Cardinal understands the importance of monitoring and managing fuel consumption to best serve our community and customers,” said Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal Chairman of the Board. “We are proud to do our part to create a more efficient, productive, and sustainable freight industry and to more efficiently manage fuel consumption to keep the cost of our services down.”

Carbon is a leading indicator of fuel use, meaning that SmartWay High Performers for carbon also consume less fuel for every mile they travel and for every ton of freight they move. For example, for every trip they make, high performing SmartWay truckload carriers for carbon move heavier loads, packing their trailers more efficiently – and still consume thousands of gallons of less fuel annually, as compared to their SmartWay peers.
