Concord, N.C. – August 30, 2007 -- Cardinal Logistics Management, long regarded for its efficiency and excellence as one of the industry’s fastest growing third-party logistics company, has earned yet another high honor in the industry ranking #2 among a pool of qualified contenders in the annual “Quest for Quality” Awards, sponsored by Logistics Management Magazine.   The award will be given to Cardinal senior management team at the annual “Quest for Quality” Awards dinner in conjunction with this year’s CSCMP conference in Philadelphia in late October.

According to leading logistics experts at Armstrong & Associates, Inc. in 2006, in the U.S. alone, 3PL gross revenues grew by $9 billion to $113 billion—a 9.5 percent increase over the previous year.  The 3PL industry now rings in right around $415 billion—and according to industry experts there's no visible sign of it slowing down.  The reason is simple: As supply chains become more global and more complex, shippers are turning to their 3PLs more than ever to stretch operations into unfamiliar regions of the world.

According to Logistics Management readers, there were 12 third-party logistics providers that are performing top-notch service here in the U.S. and around the world.  In the 3PL category, Cardinal Logistics Management ranked #2 with a weighted score of 36.49 in one of the tightest races for top position the category has ever seen.  In terms of 3PL’s whose core competency is dedicated final mile deliveries, Cardinal was the top ranking company.

The annual 3PL - “Quest for Quality” award recognizes innovation, adaptability, and the capability to meeting customers’ unique needs.  The Quest for Quality is based on a consumer evaluation measuring performance, value, information technology and customer service, and equipment and operations; the distinguished field is then narrowed and the winners selected by the editors at Logistics Management.

At all times, Cardinal Logistics is focused on working not to just meet but exceed our customers’ expectations,” says Jerry Bowman, President and COO of Cardinal Logistics Management.  “We are proud of the teamwork shown by our organization in receiving this honor, particularly, as we celebrate our 10th anniversary,” he said. “More important, we are honored to be named by a leading trade publication like Logistics Management as a top ranking 3PL in a highly competitive pool of contenders.  Being recognized by our peers and editorial staff affirms our customers’ belief and our employees’ commitment in what we do each and every day.”  Click here for more about Logistics Management's top rankings.

In addition to earning Logistics Management’s red ribbon, previous achievements include being named Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies Top 100 Great Supply Chain Partners in 2007, and being listed on Inbound Logistics Magazine’s 100 Top 3PL’s list for the past five consecutive years.
