Nation’s Fastest Growing Third-Party Logistics Firm Changes Legal
Name to Better Differentiate Company in Transportation and Logistics
Marketplace
CONCORD, N.C. (April 13, 2005 ) --- In
a move designed to better differentiate its company name and
solidify their brand in the logistics market, the Board of
Cardinal Freight Carriers, Inc. a North Carolina Corporation,
on Thursday, April 7, 2005 filed paperwork with the North
Carolina Office of the Secretary of State to formally change
the name of the company from Cardinal Freight Carriers to
Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation or (CLMC).
According to Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal’s Chairman of
the Board, the decision was based on streamlining efficiencies
for the third-party logistics firm, which has evolved from
a small truckload company to one of the logistics industry’s
most trusted and respected integrated logistics and transportation
companies in the business. As Cardinal has evolved through
the years so has their core business focus, officials say.
“Cardinal is an unquestioned leader in the dedicated
delivery and transportation business and we plan to continue
delivering a high return on investment for our customers,” explained
McLoughlin. “Several years ago we exited the truck load
carrier business completely and now felt it was a necessary
and important step to officially change our company name to
more accurately reflect our current line of operations.”
From its start in 1997 with the purchase of North Carolina-based
truckload common carrier Cardinal Freight Carriers, Cardinal
Logistics Management Corporation has continued to experienced
explosive demand for its dedicated and delivery product lines.
Dedicated and delivery services soon set the company apart
from other third-party logistics firms as Cardinal streamlined
their operations to a natural evolution in jobsite and “last-mile” delivery
that built on Cardinal’s expertise, innovation and intent
focus on customer satisfaction. In January 2001, Cardinal
executives recognized the success of their core service in
dedicated delivery and logistics management and chose to focus
on those while eliminating its truckload line.
Last year, Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation launched
their newest product line - Warehousing & Inventory Management
program for a number of their key customers. Cardinal CEO,
Tom Hostelter points out that the company’s core competency
remains centered on the management of dedicated resources.
Total warehousing and distribution center square footage now
tops more than 800,000 square feet of space with more than
15 locations across the country, Hostetler reports.
With new product introductions and addition of new business
from a number of high-profile customers, including KraftMaid
Cabinetry and Mill’s Pride, Cardinal added annual revenue
totaling in excess of $125 million during 2004, according
to Jerry Bowman, Cardinal’s President and COO. Headquartered
in Concord, N.C., Cardinal’s employee base now totals
more than 2,300 employees nationwide including contract and
employee drivers.
