Leading Third-Party Logistics Provider Receives Lowe’s Gold Carrier Award for Fourth Consecutive Year; Recognized in highest tier of all transportation carriers with on-time percentage of 99.9% for 2004

CONCORD, N.C. (February 24, 2005) --- Officials with Cardinal Logistics Management (Cardinal) – one of the nation’s fastest growing third-party logistics firms headquartered in Concord, N.C. – today announced that the organization received the “Gold Carrier Award” by Lowe’s Home Improvement Retail stores for the fourth consecutive year. The award was presented by Steve Palmer, Lowe’s VP of Transportation during the Lowe’s Annual Carrier Conference at Lowe’s headquarters in North Wilkesboro, N.C.

The criteria on which all carriers were judged included service, timely and accurate invoicing, and problem solving abilities. Cardinal Logistics Management was in the highest tier of all carriers with an on-time percentage of 99.9 percent for 2004.

“We are extremely pleased that Cardinal has once again been recognized by Lowe’s with their prestigious “Gold Carrier Award,” said Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal’s Chairman of the Board and veteran transportation authority. “At Cardinal, we pride ourselves on having an unbeatable team of dedicated, professional drivers who value delivering above and beyond expectations for each of our retail partners. Lowe’s is a premier customer and we are honored to have been recognized for the fourth consecutive year for outstanding performance.”

The “Gold Carrier Award” is awarded to the transportation carrier that has best demonstrated its ability to provide consistent high levels of service, control costs, and display the flexibility that best supports Lowe’s customers’ requirements. Cardinal Logistics Management drivers delivered more than 16,000 loads from Lowe’s Distribution Centers to stores in OH, MI, IN, and KY and completed those deliveries with a 99.9% on-time delivery percentage.

Steve Palmer, Lowe’s Vice-President of Transportation presented the award to Tim Johnson, Cardinal’s VP of Midwest Operations, at the Lowe’s Annual Carrier Conference, which was held at Lowe’s Headquarters in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. “As new stores and backhaul vendors were added -- Cardinal’s drivers responded with pride, integrity, and enthusiasm to provide the kind of service that Lowe’s has come to expect,” said Scott Cahrier, Cardinal’s Distribution Center manager in Findlay, Ohio.
