CONCORD, N.C. (September 14, 2004) - Executives with Cardinal Logistics Managment - one of the country's fastest growing third-party logistics and transportation firms - recently announced that J.R. Baxter and Jane Joyner were inducted as the first two charter members of a new employee recognition program known as the Cardinal 'Circle of Champions'.
The 'Cardinal Circle of Champions' program was launched to honor and recognize those employees who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty for internal and external customers, according to Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal Logistics Chairman of the Board. Charter members were announced on September 9 at an employee and management Town Hall meeting at the company's Concord, N.C. headquarters.
Jane Joyner, a Concord resident and member of the company's driver payroll team, joined Cardinal Logistics in 1999. Joyner handles contractor settlements and plays an integral role with customer management. Among the many individuals who nominated Joyner for this award was Jason Cardoza, Cardinal Logistics Region Manager. "Jane handles one of our most important functions every week and handles all the chaos with a smile and efficiency unimaginable," says Cardoza. "She always has a pleasant, 'let's get it done and done right' attitude."
The second charter member inducted into the program was J.R. Baxter. Baxter, also a resident of Concord, is a TMW Field Support Manager and has worked in a number of areas within the company during his 14-year career at Cardinal Logistics including Fuel Lane Maintenance, Central Services, Driver Supervisor and Project Manager.
"This award was a complete surprise as there are so many people in this company who work so hard," Baxter said. "The custom jacket may be given out to an individual, but it is accepted for the whole team." J.R. enjoys the teamwork and camaraderie of all departments at Cardinal. "My main goal when coming to work each day is to get each mission done and done right the first time."
"J.R.'s involvement in our recent $100 million growth curve was critical to our success, states Clay Holmes, VP of Information Technology at Cardinal. "He was out in the field for months at a time, away from his family, working super human hours, implementing our technology solutions for our new customers."
The Cardinal 'Circle of Champions' was created to recognize those employees who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty to help internal customers in the field and external customers day after day. Ten charter members are to be elected in 2004. According to Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal Chairman, each member will receive a Cardinal Logistics custom designed jacket and certificate of achievement. No more than 12 jackets will be awarded each year, and any employee under the title of Vice President is eligible for this distinct award.
"These employees believe in something bigger than just themselves. They have values and ethics that show in their work product, believe in thrilling their customers, and getting the job done effectively, completely and efficiently," said McLoughlin. "We salute each of them for their excellence and what they do every day for Cardinal."
