Concord, NC -- May 15, 2003 -- Cardinal Logistics Management (Cardinal), a privately held provider of dedicated and delivery
transportation services, today announced that Mike Kota has been
hired as General Counsel. Kota’s responsibilities include managing
internal and external legal affairs for the thriving company.
Kota brings to his new position at Cardinal more than 25 years
experience as a labor and employment attorney in the transportation
industry. His background includes both 16 years of in-house legal
management experience with Ryder System and Leaseway Transportation
(now owned by Penske Truck Leasing, Inc.) and nine years in private
practice.
According to Cardinal’s CEO, Tom Hostetler, the company’s
explosive growth during the past several years precipitated bringing
this resource in-house. “Mike’s legal background and
achievements in the transportation industry made him the ideal
candidate for this new position,” explained Hostetler. “The
addition of Mike as General Counsel brings a new dimension to our
management team. Our clients will benefit from Mike’s expertise
in the constantly shifting landscape of labor and employment law.
Cardinal is better positioned to bring real value to private fleet
operators grappling with those issues.”

Kota holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Albion
College in Michigan. He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University
School of Law in Nashville, TN. A former resident of Atlanta, Kota
and his family now live in Davidson, N.C. His office will be based
at Cardinal’s Customer Support Center in Concord, N.C.
