Concord, N.C. -- March 25, 2003 -- Cardinal Logistics Management (Cardinal), a privately held provider of dedicated
and delivery
transportation services, today announced that Lou D’Angeli
has joined the company as a Vice President of Business Development.
In his new role, D’Angeli will be responsible for expanding
and managing the warehousing function for Cardinal’s current
base of Fortune 50 customers that include Home Depot, 7-Eleven,
Georgia-Pacific and Office Depot.
“Warehousing and crossdocking are significant growth areas
for us that will enhance the total logistics solutions we offer
to our current and prospective customers,” said Jerry Bowman,
President and COO of Cardinal. “Lou’s extensive expertise
in warehousing and inventory management will serve as a catalyst
to help our customers optimize the methods and speed in which
they move inventory through their supply chain.”
Prior to joining Cardinal, D’Angeli worked at Ryder Integrated
Logistics as Director of Customer Logistics. In that capacity,
D’Angeli was directly responsible for increasing revenue
from existing contracts by more than 10 percent annually while
managing and directing activities for 29 distribution facilities.
D’Angeli also worked for Federal Express Corporation for
more than 10 years where he was quickly promoted to a number of
leadership roles. His positions included General Manager/Logistics
of e-commerce division, Regional Operations Manager and Operations
Coordinator, where he served as the first operations supervisor
for a FedEx warehouse outside of Memphis, TN. During his tenure
at Federal Express he earned the “Five Star Award” for
service and performance excellence.
A native of New Jersey, D’Angeli earned a business management
degree at Pace University and is currently completing an advanced
degree in logistics at the University of Phoenix. D’Angeli,
his wife and three children currently reside in northern New Jersey.
