New business development role further establishes Cardinal’s
fast-growing national presence
Concord, N.C. -- December 3, 2002 -- Executives with Cardinal Logistics
Management (Cardinal) today announced that Jim Shikle – an
industry veteran with more than 38 years of direct sales and
management experience in logistics and transportation - has been
named Vice President of Business Development. Cardinal Logistics
is a leading dedicated, delivery and third-party logistics solutions
provider.
In his new role, Shikle will be responsible for building national
sales accounts and increasing Cardinal’s presence with national
customers. Shikle began his career at Saunders System, a truck
leasing business based in Birmingham, AL, as a management trainee
in 1964 and quickly rose to VP of National Sales. Following the
purchase of Saunders by Ryder System, Shikle held numerous sales
and management positions at Ryder, including his most recent role
as Director of Business Development. He left the company in 2001
to pursue a consulting business in the transportation and logistics
industry.
Jerry Bowman, President and COO of Cardinal, said Shikle’s
business knowledge and vast experience in the industry is a clear
benefit to Cardinal’s aggressive expansion and growth in
the dedicated and delivery business. “Jim is a well-known
and well-respected veteran in the logistics industry with a tremendous
track record of success,” said Bowman. “He will be
a significant asset in supporting Cardinal’s aggressive growth.
