Mulkey to facilitate extension of Cardinal’s explosive
growth strategy
Concord, N.C. -- November 19, 2002 -- Larry Mulkey, CEO of Mulkey & Associates
and former president of Ryder Integrated Logistics, has been appointed
to the Board of Directors for Cardinal Logistics Managment
(Cardinal). According to Cardinal executives, Mulkey’s appointment
further extends the company’s growth strategy in becoming
a dominant market leader in the dedicated, delivery and logistics
management industry. Annual sales for Cardinal now exceed $200
million.
Cardinal Chairman of the Board, Vin McLoughlin, said the addition
of Larry Mulkey to Cardinal’s governance team adds further
credibility to the team of experienced industry professionals who
currently play a role in guiding Cardinal’s business growth
and expansion. “Larry Mulkey is one of the most widely recognized
and respected authorities in our industry,” said McLoughlin. “We
look to Larry’s extensive expertise and vision to play a
pivotal role in helping Cardinal manage our explosive growth in
the dedicated and delivery markets and assist us in meeting our

An industry veteran with more than 32 years experience in transportation
and logistics, Mulkey served as President of Ryder Integrated Logistics
and was responsible for leading the team that changed the vision
and strategy of a $300M dedicated business to the world’s
leading third-party integrated logistics provider with revenues
of more than $3 billion. While at Ryder, Mulkey also held a variety
of executive positions including President of Ryder International
and President of the Ryder Student and Commercial Business Division.
Throughout his extensive career, Mulkey admits there is one industry
accolade that he treasures with the highest regard. In 1996, he
was honored as recipient of the Distinguished Service Award presented
by the Council of Logistics Management (CLM) – the highest
honor awarded in the logistics industry.
“Having been selected to receive this honor from more than
7,000 top candidates worldwide was an incredible and humbling experience,” he
said.
Mulkey has participated on the Board of Directors and executive
committees of a number of prominent industry associations including
the American Trucking Association; International Center for Competitive
Excellence; and served as chairman of the American Trucking Association
Foundation. In addition to his recent board appointment for Cardinal,
Mulkey also serves on the Board of Directors for Streicher Mobile
Fueling, Inc. A resident of Placida, FL, Mulkey is CEO of the consulting
firm, Mulkey & Associates, Inc.
