Concord, N.C. (July 5, 2016) – Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation has once again been recognized as one of Inbound Logistics’ Top 75 Green Supply Chain Partners. This marks Cardinal’s sixth consecutive year on the list. In a special “Lean and Green” issue of Inbound Logistics Cardinal is profiled as one of the 75 leading companies customers can turn to when seeking green supply chain management and logistics partners. Inbound Logistics editors determined the 2016 honorees are truly “walking the walk” when it comes to commitment to supply chain sustainability
“Supply chain sustainability has always been top of mind for Inbound Logistics readers,” said Inbound Logistics Editor, Felecia Stratton. Inbound Logistics’ editors chose the G75 based on four benchmarks: measurable green results, sustainability innovation, continuous improvement, and industry recognition.
Cardinal’s fleet management comprises governing speed, installing Auxiliary Power Units, and implementing automatic idle shutdown and other modifications to increase fuel efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. A SmartWay partner since 2004, Cardinal is also testing renewable fuels, training drivers on proper maintenance and driving habits, and offering incentives for high MPG rates. In addition, dynamic routing reduces road miles and enhances backhaul support.
“Cardinal is extremely proud to be recognized for our green supply chain management practices six years in a row,” said Jerry Bowman, President and COO. “Part of our job is to always look forward to see how we can improve our processes.”
